Chinese overseas investment is growing rapidly, with more enterprises investing in ever more regions and industries.
A senior trade official was quoted by the People's Daily as saying that most of today's overseas investment goes to countries in Asia, Africa, Latin-America and eastern Europe, rather than America, Western Europe, Japan, and Hong Kong as in the 1980s.
He said the investment fields have also widened, from import and export, transportation and food services to assembly, resource application, agriculture and research and development, according to China Radio International Sunday.
In addition, more and more Chinese enterprises have recently merged with overseas companies to set up global distribution networks and research development centers.
