Fourteen cities and districts in China's mainland have been chosen as the first option of investment destinations for Taiwan business people, according to an annual survey conducted recently by Taiwan Electrical and Electric Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA).
The 14 cities and districts are Xiaoshan in Hangzhou, Minxing in Shanghai, Chengdu, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, Jiangyin in Wuxi, Tianjin,Kunshan in Suzhou, Jiaxing, Dalian, Nanchang, Shantou, Jinan and Qingdao.
The survey said that geographical advantage and good investment environment are the major reasons for Taiwan's business people to invest in these cities and districts.
On top of the list is Xiaoshan, which also ranked the first in last year's survey.
By the end of July this year, Jiaxing had approved 715 projects funded by Taiwan's investors, whose combined investment totaled 3.77 billion US dollars. The investment of 116 projects exceed 10 million US dollars each.
Since 1999, TEEMA has organized experts, scholars and research institutions to conduct annual survey on topics such as the investment environment and risks of 65 cities and districts in themainland.
